PE is taking a market survey to gage the economic impact on the environmental control industry. The survey is available on the Web before November 8.

I often get questions from advertisers and readers and researchers about the environmental market. We have not escaped the impact from a poor worldwide economic slump but it can be hard to determine just how much impact there has been. The EPA continues to roll out regulations but states have had to roll back financial support. Is business gearing up or holding steady or cutting back.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, environmental scientists and consultants have experienced a reduction in workforce. But according to research companies such as Robert McIlvaine and the Environmental Business Journal, the industry is still spending and planning to spend on environmental control technology.

We want to know what our audience thinks as nobody has a better handle than you do. We put together an online survey that should only take a few minutes to complete. At your option, you can enter for a chance to be selected to win one of four American Express gift checks, each valued at $50. Just click on http://bit.ly/2012pecapex to get to the survey.

We are planning to post some of the results in an article in the January or the February issue. Thank you for your time.
