Sometimes, there is an overlap of OSHA and EPA regulations. The 29 CFR 1900 section of the OSHA regulations is often used by environmental professionals. The Hazard Communication Standard has been aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals and is a shared responsibility between the environmental and safety departments. The new regulation is available at 29 CFR 1900.1200. ALL employees must be trained on the new requirements before Dec. 1, 2013. Additional compliance dates can be found here.
