The EPA has launched air quality designations for a majority of areas throughout the U.S. in regards to the 2008 lead (Pb) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
The final rule regarding these designations will be effective on Dec. 31, 2011.
The EPA has launched air quality designations for a majority of areas throughout the U.S. in regards to the 2008 lead (Pb) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS).
In a previously established action, the EPA had assigned 16 areas within the U.S. as "nonattainment." Each of these areas had violated the 2008 Pb NAAQS, according to data attained from the pre-2010 monitoring network.
Now all remaining areas throughout the U.S. have been designated by the EPA; all of these areas will need to commence a variety of pollution control activities as soon as possible.
