The EPA has lately announced a 30-day public comment period regarding a draft document entitled, BASINS and WEPP Climate Assessment Tools (CAT): Case Study Guide to Potential Applications.

The document has been created in order to support the application of two water modeling tools that have recently been developed - the BASINS (Better Assessment Science Integrating Point & Non-point Sources) and the WEPP (Water Erosion Prediction Project).

An independent group of experts will review the draft document, which was developed by the National Center for Environmental Assessment, a division of the EPA's Office of Research and Development.

Written comments can be submitted by facsimile, hand delivery, mail, or to www.regulations.gov.

All comments must be received by Dec. 19, 2011.
