On December 8th, the EPA released its annual enforcement and compliance results.
According to the results, the EPA eliminated over 1.8 billion pounds of pollution throughout 2011; of the 1.8 billion pounds of pollution, 300 million pounds were eliminated in the Great Lakes region alone.
The agency's enforcement and compliance program was designed to protect Americans' well-being by improving air, land, and water quality throughout all regions of the U.S.
