EPA Revises Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule

The EPA is currently revising the petroleum and natural gas systems source category of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule.

As of Dec. 28, 2011, the rule will be effective.



The EPA is currently revising the petroleum and natural gas systems source category of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule.

Final revisions will include the amendment of data reporting requirements, the clarification of various definitions and the completion of technical corrections.

As of Dec. 28, 2011, the rule will be completely effective.

In addition, the EPA has proposed amendments to regulations included in the Non-Hazardous Secondary Materials rule, which was originally published on March 21, 2011.

The rule specifically offered standards and procedures which could be used to recognize whether or not Non-Hazardous Secondary Materials are actually solid waste, according to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, when utilized as either ingredients or fuels within combustion units.

The general public is welcomed to submit their comments regarding possible, future amendments of this rule to the EPA. All comments must be received by Feb. 21, 2012.
