The EPA is currently seeking public comments regarding the requests it has received from two globally renowned companies - Dupont de Nemours, Inc. and Honeywell International.
The two companies have requested to use calculations, rather than actual testing, when measuring the total amount of their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
In all, the two companies submitted eight fluorinated GHGs that have been emitted in recent months.
Thus far, the agency believes that seven of the eight flourinated GHGs meet the requirements of the Fluorinated Gas Production portion of the Mandatory Greenhouse Gas Reporting Rule.
But now, it is the public's turn to offer any thoughts they may have.
All public comments must be submitted by Feb. 21, 2012.
