MoreOn Aug. 2, 2011 the EPA issued a notice in the Federal Register in regards to receiving stakeholder input concerning the effectiveness of a MSW Characterization Report, which is entitled "Municipal Solid Waste in the United States."
The report discusses sustainable materials management and is intended to be utilized for the future development of new measurement definitions and protocols, especially regarding sustainable materials.
A new measurement report may ultimately be created as a result of stakeholder comments; such a report would be eventually available to the general public.
The EPA has announced that comments will no longer need to be received by Aug. 31; rather, the comment period has been extended to September.
All written comments must now be received on or before Sept. 30, 2011.
