CERCLA requires the EPA to publish, along with its National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan, a list of national priorities among the known releases or threatened releases of hazardous substances, pollutants, or contaminants. The National Priorities List (NPL) is intended primarily to guide the agency in determining which sites warrant further investigation as to what CERCLA-financed remedial action(s), if any, may be appropriate.

Comments regarding any of these proposed listings must be submitted (postmarked) on or before Dec. 20, 2010.
