The AGAR® process increases the treatment capacity of an existing wastewater treatment plant without requiring additional aeration basins to be built. The novel process provides a high-BOD removal rate and intensive nitrogen removal. It uses a proprietary media and wedge wire screens. The media is added to the aeration basin to provide surface area upon which fixed film biomass can attach.
