New York University on Friday, March 12, 2010, released a
report detailing the university's plans for reducing its carbon footprint, and
for specific projects that university officials believe will achieve carbon
neutrality for the school by 2040.
Some of the mitigating procedures are specific to the school, but many might be applicable to other businesses charged with controlling GHGs in an urban environment, where codes and space considerations make any construction more difficult.
