JWC Environmental, Costa Mesa , Calif., announced that Kenny Oyler has been promoted to director of the Monster Separation Systems Division. The announcement was made during a special dinner presentation at WEFTEC-07 in San Diego. Oyler, in his sixth year with the company, has worked in the wastewater industry since 1980, including stints at companies such as IDI, FMC and US Filter (now part of Siemens).
Eric Oster has joined Fluid Research, Tustin, Calif., as the company’s vice president of administration. He will oversee personnel and the continued expansion phases of the company’s new building. Oster has an extensive background in leadership, manufacturing operations, strategic planning and sales.
August Mack Environmental Inc., Columbus, Ohio, announced the hiring of Gerald Rich, P.E., to project manager in its Dublin, Ohio office. Rich previously spent more than 30 years at the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, serving in a variety of roles in the air pollution and industrial wastewater divisions. Rich specializes in government policy and regulation, and planning. He will be responsible for providing technical and regulatory oversight on a variety of projects, quality assurance and control review of reports, and new business development and client services.
Arcadis has a few new faces on its scientific team. Paul R. Krause, Ph.D., has been promoted to principal ecologist, and Charles Dittmar has joined as a senior scientist specializing for global management and advisory services. Krause, based in Los Angeles, will lead the Risk Assessment and Ecological Sciences team. He is a published author and knowledge leader in the fields of ecology, sediment toxicology and marine biology, teaches accredited university courses on aquatic ecological issues. Dittmer, out of Brighton, Mich., will serve as an expert for site assessment and remediation projects throughout the U.S. Dittmar was the principal consultant for Dittmar & Associates in Highland, Mich. He brings over 20 years of experience in business development, due diligence, technical project execution, program management, environmental assessment and cleanup of Brownfield redevelopment sites.
Industrial Scientific Corp.’s chairman and CEO Kent McElhattan has been elected to the National Safety Council’s Board of Directors. During his two-year term, McElhattan will serve on the board’s Finance & Audit, and Strategic Planning committees.
Justin Clark has been named a manufacturing engineer at the West Chester, Ohio manufacturing facility of Marathon Monitors Inc. Clark started off as a CNC machinist while completing his degree in Tooling and Machining. Currently, he is completing his B.S. in MET at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Clark is a skilled CAD/CAM/CAE designer and has primary responsibility for documenting the designs and manufacturing processes at the company.
