Pollution Engineering's legal columnist, Lynn Bergeson, was honored by having her name added to The International Who's Who of Environmental Lawyers 2008. Bergeson, who is included in the breakdown of "most highly regarded individuals – global," is described as "one of the finest chemicals regulation lawyers in the country." Bergeson's practice is described as "second to none." Her litigation and compliance work also were singled out.
The publication was based on research, including conversations with private practice lawyers of repute in the practice area question or in related fields, as well as with general counsel. The individuals and firms they recommended were then canvassed using questionnaires. Who's Who Legal then collated the returned data with information obtained from legal and financial media, and respondent corporate counsel. Telephone and face-to-face interviews were conducted internationally to refine the listing to a selection of between 200 and 600 lawyers who, by general agreement, were considered the pre-eminent lawyers in the field.
