Interior Removal Specialist Inc., South Gate, Calif., a demolition contractor, was awarded the International Solid Waste Association's (ISWA) Innovation Award on Sept. 24, 2007, at a ceremony in Amsterdam. SCS Engineers, a member of ISWA, nominated the contractor for the award for diverts 72 percent of all debris generated, diverting materials not even being considered by most other facilities.
