On Sep. 7, 2007, EPA issued a direct final rule amending
five instrumental test methods published on May 15, 2006 (72 Fed. Reg. 51365).
The amendments contained inadvertent errors and provisions that needed to be
clarified. The agency said it is correcting errors and clarifying portions of
the amendments to reflect the intent of the rule, and to make them more
understandable by affected parties. This rule is effective on Nov. 6, 2007,
without further notice, unless the EPA receives adverse comment by Oct. 9,
2007.
If the agency does receive adverse comments, it will publish a timely withdrawal in the Federal Register informing the public that this rule will not take effect.
