Racine Federated Inc., Racine, Wis., announced its acquisition of the vortex flow meter product lines of Asahi/America Inc., Malden, Mass. Asahi/America will no longer sell, service or support the Universal Vortex Flow Meter and FloSonex Ultrasonic Flow Meter product lines. Waters Corp., Milford, Mass., announced it has entered into a cooperative research and development agreement with the EPA’s National Exposure Research Laboratory to develop trace level analytical methods for detecting perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in soil and water. The goal of the agreement over the next three years is to develop methods for the sample collection, storage, extraction, cleanup and analysis for trace levels of PFCs. John Zink Company LLC, Tulsa, Okla., has finalized the acquisition of Coen Company Inc., Woodland, Calif., a privately held combustion supplier to the power generation, steam generation and process combustion markets. Coen will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary. No financial details were announced. The acquisition includes all stock of the current ownership. Coen has about 270 employees in North America. The Adventus Group has rejoined the Association for Environmental Health & Sciences (AEHS) to recognize talented, emerging environmental scientists during the 17th Annual AEHS Meeting and West Coast Conference on Soils, Sediments and Water, held in San Diego. Two $500 awards were given for the best student presentations from among the diverse participants during the conference.
