The United States environmental industry grew at a 5.4 percent pace in 2005 to about $264.6 billion, according to a report by the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ). This was the second year in a row that growth exceeded 5 percent. EBJ’s annual environmental industry overview report was generated from responses gathered from approximately 30,000 private companies and about twice as many public sector entities involved in selling environmental services, equipment or resources.
