
Tang
Johannes Tang (Deng Yong Cheng in
Chinese) will now be responsible for dealer network and business development in
Asia for Vanton Pump & Equipment Corp., Hillside, N.J. Tang’s focused
activity is in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia,
Philippines, Australia and the nearby countries. With over 40 years of
marketing and managerial experience, Tang has an international business major
from his MBA study at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in addition to a
primary mechanical engineering degree. He has spent over 25 years in the Marine
and Power Generation industries promoting Diesel Engines and Propulsion
Systems.

Kerscher
Josef Kerscher has been named president
of BMW Manufacturing Co., Spartanburg, S.C., a subsidiary of Munich-based BMW
Group, succeeding Clemens Schmitz-Justen on April 1. He is a graduate of the
Technical University Munich with a mechanical engineering degree with an
emphasis on environmental engineering.

Smith
Scott Smith has been appointed
to the position of senior project manager for ERM (Environmental Resources
Management), Philadelphia. Smith is a BEAC Certified Professional Environmental
Auditor and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager with almost 20 years of
experience in the environmental field. His
regulatory experience includes environmental, health and safety
compliance auditing; development of SPCC, storm water and contingency plans;
air emission inventories and permits, SARA Title III and hazardous waste
reporting, RCRA closure assessment and implementation, and Phase I/Phase II
environmental site assessments. Smith also has experience in the assessment and
remediation of brownfield properties. He will be based in Cleveland.

Ogan (top), Reed
Sensicore, Ann Arbor, Mich., has fortified its
management team with the hiring of
Kenneth Ogan, Ph.D. as vice president of
R&D and
Douglas Reed as vice president of
sales. Ogan is a seasoned executive and expert in analytical instruments and
applications in the water quality and biomedical fields. He previously served
as vice president of technology at Danaher Corp., Environmental Water Quality
Group. Ogan held several positions at Hach Company, including vice president of
research and chief technology officer, and vice president of R&D. Before
that, he held several important management positions at Hitachi Instruments.
Reed brings over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing and support, having
held several positions at Hewlett-Packard and Agilent Technologies.

Morgan
William F. Morgan has been named director of
radiation biology and an affiliate scientist at the Department of Energy’s
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Richland, Wash. Morgan also will
continue in his position as professor and director of the Radiation Oncology
Research Laboratory at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. At PNNL Morgan
will mentor and collaborate with staff involved with the department’s Low Dose
Radiation Research Program, the National Institutes of Health and other
agencies concerned with the effects of radiation exposure on human health. An
expert on the long-term biological effects of radiation exposure, Morgan serves
as a scientific representative for regulatory agencies such as the United
Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation, the
International Commission on Radiological Protection and the National Council
for Radiation Protection.
