The review supplements two previously released human health assessments of benzene and will be used to inform the agency’s future risk assessments and regulation of benzene sources. It concludes that chronic benzene exposure may pose several types of noncancer human health hazards and provides estimates of chronic exposure levels for oral exposure (reference dose) and inhalation exposure (reference concentration) that are thought to be without appreciable risk.
