Odor Control

February 2004 Product Spotlight

Cold plasma odor treatment

IonO2X recently developed a Cold Plasma technology based odor treatment system that specifically targets malodorous emissions for industrial applications. It is highly effective against organic odor material in exhaust and vent air emissions. IonO2X's system eliminates odor in the stream and can be scaled to almost any flow rate. It is available in both In- and Ex-Situ versions.

Shhhhh! Not so loud!

Barnebey Sutcliffe recently introduced the WhisperSoft line of odor control and VOC abatement systems for municipal and industrial applications that require high-efficiency treatment of contaminated air streams. The system achieves exceedingly low operational noise levels in a compact, fully enclosed unit operating at high flow rates.

Non-alkali OCM stops hydrogen sulfide

USFilter's Midas™ odor control media combines selected active ingredients and bituminous coal to yield an odor control carbon with extraordinarily high H2S breakthrough capacity. The OCM effectively reduces H2S concentrations to below odor threshold levels by catalytically oxidizing the H2S almost exclusively to elemental sulfur. It also captures and retains HCl and SO2 and efficiently oxidizes mercaptans.

Comprehensive natural neutralizer

OMI's ECOSORB is an organic formula that is capable of neutralizing a number of industrial odors. It operates as a molecular cluster, most often diluted with water and applied via atomization. The mix in these droplets separates with the oils, forming a thin, electrostatic film over the water droplet itself. ECOSORB is effective against hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, ammonia and mercaptans.
