Scott Specialty Gases recently introduced the Model 8404 automatic change over regulator system that reduces operating costs by permitting scheduled cylinder change-outs, preventing outages and wasted gas due to premature cylinder change-out. The Model 8404 also protects system purity by allowing line purging and cleaning before adding a new gas supply. Scott’s compact system combines a pressure-reducing regulator with diaphragm valves to direct flow of gas from two separate high-pressure cylinders (or banks of cylinders) to the point of use. A built-in line regulator also prevents fluctuations in pressure downstream.
