Seven new industrial models to the UL-listed ScaleBlaster™ line of electronic descalers handle standard diameters of non-steel pipe from 12 to 40 inches and of steel pipe from 4 to 26 inches. A microprocessor in the control unit sends out a square-wave current that rapidly sweeps a range of select frequencies. Carried by signal coils that wrap multiple times around the outside of an upstream pipeline, this current induces an electromagnetic field that causes calcium carbonates to lose their adhesive properties.
