Ben Caranci has been added to the sales staff of Lantec Products. Caranci joined as a sales engineer and will work out of the company's East Coast office in Norwood, Mass. He has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland and previously has worked for environmental consulting firms, assessing treatment system and environmental problems for the U.S. Military.

Lynn L. Bergeson, a PE columnist and partner of Bergeson & Campbell P.C., has been elected to serve as Chair of the American Bar Association Section of Environment, Energy and Resources for 2005-2006. The section is the premier forum for lawyers working in areas related to the environment, natural resources and energy. It represents more than 10,000 members with a wide range of professional interests. Bergeson has long been active in the section and has served in a number of leadership roles.

James A. Anklam, P.E., PSS, has been promoted to vice president of wastewater services and Minnesota operations for Ayres Associates, Duluth, an engineering and architectural consulting firm with 16 offices around the nation. Anklam will add oversight of company-wide wastewater operations to his current duties of overseeing the Minnesota offices, which are in Duluth, Shoreview, Rochester and Walker.

Wastequip Cusco, Richmond Hill, Ontario, announced the appointment of David Bidelspach as regional sales manager for the U.S. East Coast and Gulf Coast territory. Bidelspach will be responsible for enhancing customer relationships, new business development and identifying new opportunities for the company within his sales territory. Replacing John Frohock, he joins the company with 23 years of experience in helping to pioneer the liquid waste management industry throughout the United States.

Mark Knudson has been appointed by Denver-based Carollo Engineers as its Director of Water Practice for the Northwest Region. Knudson will be headquartered in the firm's Portland, Ore., office and will be responsible for planning and implementing water projects in the Pacific Northwest. Knudson has more than 20 years experience in environmental engineering, with a tenure at the Portland Bureau of Water Works as Director of Maintenance.

Tom Meyers was recently hired by Stedman, Aurora, Ind., as a Regional Industrial Sales Manager for the northern half of the United States. Meyers brings 18 years of experience in industrial sales of metal finishing, cleaning and drying systems. He earned a Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration) from Miami (Ohio) University. West will share in the strategic direction of company operations and its subsidiary in Mexico. He earned his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Purdue University and M.B.A. from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
