July 2005 Product Spotlight

Emissions analyzer for burners

The lightweight design and rich feature set of the Model 2000 Emission Analyzer make this handheld instrument the tool of choice for burner maintenance. The analyzer quickly and precisely measures one, two or three gases (O2, CO or NOX) from the combustion of natural gas, light oil, propane, butane, coke oven gas, blast furnace gas, coal, wood dry or manufactured gas. It includes a flue gas probe, RS-232 interface and infrared interface for print output.

Opacity & dust concentration monitor

Forney's F-8290 opacity and dust concentration monitor offers continuous, reliable measurements with simplified maintenance. Precise measurements are achieved by using a single light source and detector for both the comparison and measurement light paths. Plus, a broad-spectrum light source is used instead of conventional narrow-band LED systems, increasing accuracy. EPA compliant.

New oxygen gas analyzers

The Rapidox 2100 & 3100 oxygen analyzers allow for fast and accurate analysis of oxygen gas from under 1 ppm to 100-percent volume. The units were designed for a variety of applications, from gas purity to vacuum leak detection. Each comes complete with software for data logging and offers comprehensive facilities normally found on much more expensive models. The 2100 is a transportable version with a remote sensor head.

Gas monitors for Super Bowl security

At last February's Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, Fla., iTrans™ fixed-point gas monitors were used to detect combustible gases at several points along the city's sewer system near Alltel Stadium. The monitors were wired to a control system that would have alerted officials if any significant amount of flammable liquid was dumped into the city's sewage system.

Gas monitor receives UL dust approval

MSA's Ultima XE gas monitor has received dust approval from Underwriter Laboratories for UL Class II, Div. 1, Groups F and G installations. The monitor is valid for catalytic combustibles, toxics and oxygen sensors. The approval is intended for areas where ignitable concentrations of combustible dusts can exist all of the time or some of the time under normal operating conditions. It uses catalytic and electrochemical technologies and features a 316 stainless steel enclosure for explosion-proof monitoring.

Monitor for process flow applications

The TRIBO.d2 is a two-wire (loop powered), 4-20mA output, emissions monitor. Combined with a TRIBO.dgd or PLC for power and signal processing, it can be an economical monitoring solution for installations with large numbers of compartments. When combined with the TRIBO.trac Leak Locator or TRIBO.prevent Dual Alarm System, it will function as a monitoring system to provide useful information for collector maintenance management.
