The Campaign to Protect America's Lands (CPAL) sent a mass e-mail to nearly 60,000 Department of Interior employees, urging them to use a confidential tip line to report new anti-protection rules related to America's public lands, parks and wilderness areas. CPAL's goal is to "thwart a new round of special interest proposals … if companies start to worry that President Bush is fighting a losing re-election battle."
The mass e-mail coincided with CPAL's release of a list of "59 misdeeds the Bush administration has made at the expense of America's parks and public lands" since taking office. CPAL is a nonprofit group dedicated to natural and historical heritage preservation. See www.protectamericaslands.org or www.landtip.org.
