
The earth's climate will continue to warm over the next 50 years even if gashouse gases are curbed soon. This is from U.S. researchers in a NASA report submitted September 19, 2002.
"Some continued global worming will occur…even if the greenhouse gases in the air do not increase further, but the warming could be much less than the worst-case scenarios," lead researcher James Hansen said in a statement.
Current estimates are that the global temperatures will rise 2-4oF if conditions do not change. If carbon dioxide levels do not increase, then the expectation is that temperatures will still rise about 1.4oF.
