Coarse and Fine Bubble Aeration System

Tideflex's aeration system combines coarse and fine bubble aeration components to improve mixing and oxygen transfer while preventing backflow and clogging. The custom engineered system uses the Tideflex® TFA coarse bubble diffuser to provide rapid mixing while the company's Tubeflex Fine Bubble Air Diffuser provides the fine bubble supplement. The combination increases transfer efficiency due to the entrainment in higher velocity loops created by the TFA.

Revolution in Pulsation Dampening

Blacoh's Revolution pulsation dampener was the first of its kind to feature threaded housings instead of metal fasteners, making it nearly impervious to the damaging effects of corrosive environments. Now, the innovation continues as standard PVC construction has been upgraded to CPVC. The dampener offers a considerably higher temperature rating (180˚F) than the PVC model (125˚F), as well as better chemical resistance.

CC Pump at WEFTEC

The new Moyno® 2000 CC pump, at display at this month's WEFTEC conference, is ideal for applications where close-coupled configurations are preferred, but the robustness of a gear joint drive is needed. The 2000 CC features a sealed gear-type universal joint drive train and optimized rotor/stator pumping element geometry. The pump was designed to efficiently transfer abrasive, high-solids content materials.

Pipe Connection Spray-Guard Shield

The Ramco PPL (VUE) Spra-Gard® Safety Shield combines the high quality characteristics of the company's Spra-Gard shield with a wide center band of clear ECTFE as the transparent portion of the shield. As with all of the company's wraparound shields, it safeguards against both frontal and lateral sprayouts. Since this shield is inhibited against UV degradation, it will tolerate installation both indoors and outdoors.

Rapid Toxicity Test

Nitrifying microorganisms are the first to die off in cold weather or under the stress of toxic or inhibitory influents. Bioscience has devised a test method using this characteristic to determine the toxicity of an incoming waste stream in 15 to 30 minutes. The test uses the company's bacteria strain Microcat®-XNC and its portable EZ-BOD® Meter to measure the specific oxygen uptake rate in a reactor vessel containing a water solution of bacteria and nutrients.

A Big Boost for Municipalities

Stations as large as the VFD Booster Series are often built on site by field contractors who first pour a slab and then build the station from the ground up. The modular, prefabricated Flowtronex process builds the station at a factory on large steel skids. Once bolted together on site, the fully UL-listed station delivers added strength that site-built systems can't match.
