communities. Our products are installed and used under the most demanding
conditions, from oil pipelines in the Arctic to drilling wells in the desert.
You will find our reliable, low-maintenance instruments in a variety of
manufacturing industries, from printing and flexible packaging to
semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and automobile manufacturing plants. We even
supply systems that meet the strict requirements of military fighter jets and
nuclear submarines. We pride ourselves in being the application experts in gas
detection and solvent vapor monitoring, so you can count on us working hard to
assess your risks and carefully tailor a management system to meet your
specific application needs.
Lower Energy Costs
with PrevEx Flammability Analyzers
The
cost of natural gas used for heating thermal oxidizers and other pollution
control devices can be substantial. By using PrevEx Flammability Analyzers you
can lower these costs and maximize process capacity, while complying with the
necessary safety codes.
The
National Fire Protection Association’s Standard for the Safe Operation of Ovens
and Furnaces, defines direct-fired thermal oxidizers as Class A Furnaces
mandating the use of continuous Flammability Analyzers on inlet streams
exceeding 25% LFL. Measuring flammability at the inlet of the incinerator will
prevent incinerator and oxidizer fires, explosions, or catalyst destruction by
monitoring the flammability of the incoming VOC stream. These streams are of
varying energy content that can change rapidly in a manner of minutes. Danger
is present when the inlet stream suddenly gets rich enough to ignite or
explode.
Our
PrevEx Flammability Analyzers are used on the inlet duct to monitor the
flammability of the incoming stream and protect it from dangerous
concentrations caused by rich vapor streams. It is the only gas detection
system that meets all the requirements of the NFPA.
Features
& Benefits of the PrevEx Flammability Analyzer:
- One
second response time
- Reduces
ventilation air requirements
- Cannot be poisoned or contaminated
- Heated
to prevent sample condensation
- Stand-alone
design with built-in alarms and relays
- Measures
multiple solvents and mixtures without recalibration
Measure Emissions
with Industrial Grade Flame Ionization Detectors
Our
Flame Ionization Detector, model SNR650, was designed specifically for
industrial use and is the only FID that mounts directly on the incinerator
rather than in the instrument room or control room. This greatly improves
response time and eliminates the expensive heat-traced sample lines required by
other FIDs. For parts-per-million or mg/NM
3 measurement
of VOCs from oxidizer exhausts, stacks, adsorption beds, and process vents.
Government
and environmental groups are forcing industries with medium to high VOC
exhausts to reduce emissions by as much as 98%. Incineration is a way to bring
the exhaust emissions in line with regulations. A flame ionization detector at
the outlet of the incinerator ensures that it does not exceed emission levels.
In addition, by using two flame ionization detectors (one on the incinerator’s
input line and one on the output line) you can measure and compare hydrocarbon
concentrations before and after processing, indicating efficiency.
Features
& Benefits of Model SNR690 Flame Ionization Detector:
- Direct
mount design eliminates heat-traced lines
- Heated
to 200C to prevent sample condensation
- Stand-alone
design with built-in alarms and relays
- Reliable
air-aspirated sample-draw system does not use pump
- Automatic
zero and span calibration
- Remote

Model 690 BTU
Calorific Analyzer optimizes burner efficiencies through measuring and
controlling blended gas mixtures
These
economical, fully-heated, air aspirator driven assemblies come complete and
ready to install. They directly measure calorific value and have a highly
uniform response to a wide variety of combustibles. Its industrial-strength
design allows quick and reliable monitoring & control of waste gas streams
to advanced combustion equipment such as a flare stack.
According
to the EPA, in order to meet flare emission burning efficiencies of 98% the
waste gas stream must have a net heating value of at least 200 BTU/ft
3,
depending upon the type pf flare system. If the minimum heat content of the
waste gas stream is not met, auxiliary fuel must be introduced into the flare
in sufficient quantity to make up the difference.
To
do this, continuous monitoring of the waste stream is necessary to identify the
energy content or calorific value, to determine whether it can be used as a
standalone fuel supply or whether it needs to be blended with the constant fuel
source such as natural gas.
The
Model 690 BTU Calorific Analyzer will accurately measure the direct BTU
concentration of the waste stream and provide the alarm set point to alternate
between the waste stream and the constant fuel source quickly for uninterrupted
fuel.
Features
& Benefits of Model 690 BTU Calorific Analyzer:
- Compact
standalone system- integrated controller and sampling system
- Fast
response time less than 4 seconds
- Failsafe
system design
- Includes
state-of-the-art electronics plus full complement of relays
- Class
1 Div 1 Flame Cell
- Advanced
self-diagnostics
- Indoor
and outdoor options
