Highland Tank and SkimOil Inc. have joined together in developing the GulfSHOT Floating Skimmer/Separator System. This unique design can gather oil floating on water near the shoreline very efficiently. The materials are pumped into a specially designed chamber that efficiently separates the heavy solids, oil and water into separate chambers for easy recovery. Two winning companies to make one great product!

Geo-Seal, from Land Science Technologies, is a chemical resistant, sub-slab, vapor intrusion barrier that protects indoor air quality from potentially harmful vapors caused by subsurface contamination. This technology is effective in mitigating the vapor intrusion risk associated with chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons which have been shown to impact indoor air within structures and pose risks to human health. Geo-Seal incorporates a triple-layer composite system that combines two layers of chemical resistant high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a spray-applied asphalt/latex layer.

Cement-based solidification/stabilization is an established technology for treating a wide variety of waste and contaminated materials. Redevelopment of old industrial sites or Brownfields often starts with environmental cleanup. When cement is mixed into waste or contaminated soil, it acts as a binding agent to immobilize the contaminants. The Portland Cement Assoc. has provided a video describing how the process works and how the technology saved tens of thousands of dollars at a single project.

DeWind equipment has the ability to dig a trench, lay down a barrier and fill the trench in; all in one pass. The barrier can be a collection pipe, slurry wall, geo-fabric material or other materials. Not only is the work completed faster but it is safer as there are no open trenches and workers are not exposed to the contaminants. See examples of how this all comes together.

Grease can often be tough to remove from water and even tougher to handle once it is removed. Abanaki’s Grease Grabber pulls grease from the water and its heated hopper melts the grease to ease the transfer of the sticky material. Screw feeds are also available to handle solids.
