On July 5, 2006, the EPA issued its Roadmap for Mercury, the first-ever comprehensive overview of EPA mercury activities. It describes the progress EPA has made in reducing mercury and the efforts it has undertaken to achieve the reductions. Part of the efforts is a proposed significant new use rule (SNUR) on elemental mercury switches in convenience light assemblies and anti-lock brake systems, uses voluntarily discontinued several years ago. A copy of the roadmap is available at www.epa.gov/mercury/roadmap.htm.
