Comparing Cloth Media Performance Study

Abstract:
While cloth filter media is widely used in advanced wastewater treatment systems to remove particulate matter from secondary effluents, studies have found that some pile cloth filters constructed of nylon fabric fibers woven into a polyester support backing have demonstrated a deterioration of the cloth when exposed to free chlorine. This study demonstrates the ability of a new pile cloth material to withstand the exposure to chlorine and other strong oxidants.

Surgical Site Closure – 29 Sites in Indiana Receive Closure Using ORC®

Abstract:
Surgical Site Closure is an innovative remedial strategy designed to intelligently integrate natural attenuation, risk-based cleanup goals and focused source removal/treatment to cost-effectively remediate contaminated areas. This approach is best applied at sites where released materials are amenable to biodegradation and where long-term, natural attenuation-type strategies are not suitable for reasons of property transfer or potential off-site liability. This strategy was performed at 29 sites in Indiana for a major oil company.
