The EPA has just released a tool that will allow individuals who file Discharge Monitoring Reports to view each of the reports on EPA's own website.

By using the new tool, water treatment professionals will be able to read about the companies that have recently discharged pollutants; which types of pollutants they have actually released and the locations in which they have been emitting these toxins.

To provide its users with such statistics, the tool calculates all pollutant loadings from permit data, as well as DMR data, which has been collected from the EPA's Permit Compliance System and Integrated Compliance Information System.

All data was compiled from 2007 to 2010.

While using such data, the tool ranks dischargers, industries and watersheds according to their pollutant masses and toxicity levels.

In doing so, the tool helps users better understand which discharges are the most significant, as well as which facilities or industries truly generate them and ultimately impact nationwide watersheds.

If you are interested in acquiring further information about the tool, please visit this link.
